Welcome to the Faculty of Chemistry of Kharazmi University, one of the leading and well-known chemistry departments in Iran. Our faculty takes pride in its teaching excellence, advanced research facilities and its development of distinguished scientists in the past and for the future. Faculty of Chemistry was established in 1996 and continued its education and research duties in faculty format. Presently, the faculty of chemistry includes 23  faculty members consisting of 5 professors, 10 associated professors and 8 assistant professorsFaculty of chemistry is consisting of 7 departments such as

  • Organic Chemistry
  • Physical Chemistry
  • Applied Chemistry
  • Inorganic Chemistry
  • Nanochemistry
  • Polymer Chemistry

Faculty campus in Karaj has a total area of 2,500 square meters including classrooms, laboratories, and the faculty rooms. The new 5000 square meters building of the Faculty of is under construction and will be in service soon. Also, there is 800 square meters building in Tehran campus including 5 research laboratories.
Department of Chemistry of Kharazmi University takes an interdisciplinary approach to develop new chemical processes and design new materials for a more sustainable and healthy environment. We educate and train scientists at all career stages and across disciplines, including undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral scholars.

Our Mission and collaboration

Our mission is to make critical development and progress in various aspects of chemistry. We are also committed to training the next generation to explore creative new frontiers through a vast range of disciplines. Our faculty is a starting point to launch innovation networks and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Our faculty collaborates with other research institutions, universities, and industry researchers in a wide range of settings.

Academic Degrees

We offer two undergraduate degrees in pure and applied chemistry  as well as several distinct graduate degrees  in chemistry (MSc and PhD) i.e. organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, applied, polymer and nanochemistry.

Services to Industry and other institutions

Access to the Department’s equipment and expertise is available to industry and other institutes, where we can provide them with testing and analysis services:

NMR Spectroscopy, ICP-OES Spectroscopy, FT-IR Spectroscopy, CHN Elemental analyzer, UV-vis Spectrophotometry, GC-Mass analysis, and atomic absorption spectroscopy.
